Jermaine Beckford pointed to the character within the whole squad rather than his goal scoring instincts as the reasons as to why North End sit in second position tonight.
Nonetheless, he was pleased that the spirit in the dressing room was being replicated on the pitch.
“We’re quite disappointed we didn’t come away with all three points but to show the character we’ve got in the dressing room to come back we’ll take it as a positive," said Beckford.
“As a forward it’s always nice to get into those positions in the first place - it’s quite a tight position that I find myself in at the moment, but fortunes on my side and I manage to slide it past the keeper and rescue a point.
“Coming back just shows the character we’ve got in the dressing room – doesn’t matter whether you’re starting or not you’re going to get 100 percent from everybody and it’s a pleasure to be a part of it.”
