Record setter Paul Gallagher praised his teammates, in particular for their second half performance, as the Lilywhites beat Peterborough United 2-0 on Tuesday night.
And it was Gallagher’s endeavour that wrapped up the points as he broke the British record for the amount of loan appearances made at a single Club, 100, as he swept a low cross in for Jermaine Beckford to tap home.
“We knew it was going to be a tough game, they have come off the back of four wins and they have been playing some good football, reverting back to basics, working hard, and we knew that it was going to be tough,” said the Scot.
“But I thought we played well, in the second half we managed the game very well, passed it in the right areas and created a few chances.
“We always looked solid at the back and with the players we have got in the team and on the bench, we always know we can create chances.”
