Simon Grayson: “A Fantastic Performance From Everyone”

7 March 2015

Manager Simon Grayson was delighted with the work-rate and quality shown by his side in their convincing away win at stadiumMK.

The Lilywhites scored twice in the space of four second half minutes through Callum Robinson and Joe Garner to give the Lilywhites a 2-0 win over Karl Robinson’s side.

And afterwards he said the competitiveness within the squad was pushing them all to improve with every game.

“The players are enjoying what they are doing,” said the gaffer. “They are working hard on the training ground and making sure that they perform, because they know that if they don’t, they could be out of the team.

“All round from start to finish I thought we defended well. We knew how they would play; we defended balls into the box well and we knew when we had to squeeze and pressurise and we thoroughly deserved the clean sheet that we got.

“We looked comfortable in the first half and had the better of the opportunities, but we had to make sure that we were disciplined and didn’t let them get into good areas. We knew that we would get opportunities and we got a great goal from Callum and from then on we looked very in control of what we were doing and it was a fantastic performance from everyone.

“We said to the players they had to know when to go into certain areas; when to pressurise and go into certain areas and Bailey did well to track [Devante] Cole, won in and then Joe fed it out to Callum who took it brilliantly.”
