Paul Huntington Discusses ‘Good Feeling’ Of Winning Player Of The Year Award

27 May 2015

Paul Huntington took time out from Preston North End’s promotion celebrations to talk about his wonderful season which culminated in the Club player of the year award.

The central defender became an integral part of manager Simon Grayson’s side after biding his time and seizing his opportunity, and the rewards were great for Huntington; both personally and collectively as a team.

Speaking to PNE Player, Hunts said: “It is a really good feeling and obviously tops off the day we had on Sunday.

“It’s not sunk in yet but it is nice to celebrate it with everyone here, the families, and what a feeling Sunday was – what a day!

He continued: “As I have said before, this is where I want to be.

“At the start of the season I had other opportunities; I didn’t play towards the end of last season but I still played 30 or so games and thought: ‘I’ll bide my time and I’ll do a lot of work over the summer as I will again this year’.

“I did the extra work when I was out the side with the fitness coaches and the other coaches, whether it be technical work or just keeping myself right and that has obviously stood me in good stead.”
