Calum Woods Signs New Contract At Deepdale

18 November 2015

Defender Calum Woods has signed a new contract that will keep him at PNE until at least the end of the 2017/18 season.

After signing for PNE in the summer of 2014, the versatile full back played a key role in North End's promotion to the Championship, making 26 appearances, including the three Play-Off games in May.

The 28-year-old has made 14 appearances for PNE so far this season, and has been part of the defence that has kept a joint club record of six consecutive cleansheets in the last six games.

Speaking of his new contract, the No.15 said: "I'm delighted to have signed a new deal with the Club, and I'm looking forward to the next couple of seasons here.

"Last year was brilliant for everyone and it was great to be a part of that, and we have a great group of lads and staff here.

"We are on a good run at the minute in a tough division, and hopefully we can continue that after the international break, starting on Saturday against Blackburn Rovers."

Manager Simon Grayson added: “Calum is the type of player that manager’s love to have in their squads. Wherever you ask him to play he will do a good job. Last season he played at left back at Wembley and already this season he has played at centre half and right back for us. We are delighted he has extended his stay and look forward to continuing to work with him.”
