Derby Day Excitement For Alan Kelly

10 November 2015

Goalkeeping coach Alan Kelly is looking forward to the derby clash between two of his former sides later this month.

Alan played for both Preston North End and Blackburn Rovers during his career between the sticks, and now he can't wait until the derby clash at Deepdale, as Rovers visit PR1 on Saturday 21st November.

"I played at Blackburn for five years alongside the manager, I had some great times there, made some good friends, but when you're going head to head with someone in the division you want to come out on top and keep our run going, and I'm very much looking forward to it.

"I think the atmosphere makes it, especially at our stadium, it's absolutely fantastic and it generates that atmosphere. The more fans you get in, the better that atmosphere becomes and the more I think the players react to that.

"As part of the staff, and having been involved in football for such a long time, it gives you that buzz on a matchday, whether you're playing or not. When you bring all of that together in a derby, especially against Blackburn, it's what it's all about really."
