Eoin Doyle On ‘Massive Three Points’

3 November 2015

Striker Eoin Doyle recorded his first goal in a North End shirt and helped the Lilywhites to their first home win of the season in the process.

Doyle scored after only 113 seconds against Dougie Freedman’s Nottingham Forest and despite one or two frights, the Lilywhites went on to make it five consecutive clean sheets as they won the game 1-0.
“It is a massive three points at home for us,” Doyle told PNE PlayerHD after the game. “It has been coming the last few weeks and it has been a great few weeks now and we are getting stronger with every game.

“It is one of the hardest leagues to get clean sheets in and the lads have done brilliantly, it is a great credit to them and it stands us in great stead going forward.

“If we beat QPR on Saturday we can go above them and that is how we are thinking now. It is great to get that first home win and hopefully there will be many more to come.

“The goal took a bit longer than I would have liked, but it is there and hopefully I will get a few more now. I have got the strikers off the mark and hopefully that will take a bit of pressure off all of us and the goals are going to come.

“Garns had a couple of great chances tonight and he was really unlucky, he’s almost hit things too well, but again once one goes in then they will fly in.”
