Manager Simon Grayson is looking to come away with the bragging rights as PNE take on Blackburn Rovers this weekend.
The PNE boss expects an exciting atmosphere for everyone involved, and hopes that his players can come out on top come full-time on Saturday.
"It's a massive game for everybody, and the excitement around the place is obviously building as you get closer to the game.
"Derby days are special days for everyone involved, supporters, management staff, players, it's a fantastic experience to be involved in.
"Ultimately that experience can be an even better one if you win the match and you can have the bragging rights.
"It's been a few years since we played Blackburn but it's one we are looking forward to and hopefully it's one where we can come out on top. It will be an intense game but quite a good one."
"Ultimately it's about three points in the Championship which is difficult at any stage, but obviously there's the significance of the bragging rights for the supporters.
"Let's hope come teatime Saturday, our supporters have that opportunity to brag about the result."
