Hunts Thanks Fans, Teammates and Staff On Receiving Award

17 November 2015

Defender Paul Huntington had a number of people to thank after winning Player of the Year at the North West Football Awards.

Huntington picked up the accolade on Monday night, with manager Simon Grayson also picking up manager of the year award at the event in Manchester.

After a fantastic season for PNE, after fighting for his place in the team, to scoring in the Play-Off final at Wembley, Huntington was delighted to win another award to top off a brilliant campaign.

"It's obviously very pleasing, it's not just about me, it's about the team, but it's nice to get the award and shows we've been doing something right.

"It was funny last season really, I only really started in the Cup games leading up to the start of October and then I managed to stay in the team for the best part of about 50 games!

"It was obviously very enjoyable to be a part of what we achieved in the end and it was a nice turn around.

"I would like to say a big thank you to the fans who've supported not only me, but the team, and who voted for me.

"I'm obviously very proud to win the award and I've got to thank my teammates as well, for giving me a lot of help along the way and the staff for giving me the opportunity."
