Marnick: "We Could Have Nicked The Win"

7 November 2015

Defender Marnick Vermijl was happy to earn a point at Loftus Road, but felt PNE did enough to take all three late on in the game.

North End were the better side in the closing stages, but Vermijl was happy to come away with a point and another clean sheet, extending PNE's unbeaten run to six games going into the international break.

"If you see the quality of players that they have, players that played in the Premier League, they are some of the better players in this league, so this is a great point for us.

"With a bit of luck we could have nicked it in the end but we are pleased with point.

"We've kept another clean sheet, and you know how difficult it is in this league as well to keep this many, so hopefully we can do the same in the next game.

"We can take this unbeaten run into the break now, we try to do it every game, we've done it for six games now and hopefully we can build on this.

"If you keep a clean sheet, the strikers only need one goal to win, so it gives them confidence as well as the defenders.

"We've been playing well before and not getting the results we might have deserved, but we've started picking up points now and sometimes you just need that little bit of luck as well."
