Welsh Can't Wait For Rovers Clash

13 November 2015

After missing the trip to Queens Park Rangers at the weekend, John Welsh can't wait to get back to league action against Blackburn Rovers.

Rovers, who are currently without a manages, travel to Deepdale on Saturday 21st November, and Welsh admits it's one the whole squad and Club are looking forward to.

Speaking after the behind-closed-doors game at Everton on Wednesday, Welsh said: "I think the whole squad are really looking forward to it, I think the whole place is really looking forward to it. It's a derby and who doesn't want to play in a derby, especially at home, so we're looking forward to it, we're excited about it.

"As always during the international break we will get the rest and the work that we need and we will be going into the game looking forward to it and be excited about it."

The work now starts in preparation for the derby clash at Deepdale, and despite the positive run of form going into the break, Welsh admits there's still work to be done.

"We didn't really want this break to come to be honest, we just wanted to keep playing cause we were doing well.

"We will never stop doing the basics that we do, and we implement every game, and we want cleansheets but we want to score goals as well so there will be plenty to work on over the next ten days or so.

"We will always get the balance right between rest and training and working hard, there's a lot to cover and we are all geared towards the Blackburn game.
