Gaffer On A 'Fantastic Team Performance'

20 October 2015

Manager Simon Grayson praised his players after a 3-0 win over Charlton Athletic at The Valley.

The gaffer was delighted with his side's dominant display from the first whistle to the last, and was happy with his team's all round performance.

"It was a fantastic performance from start to finish. We said before the game that Charlton could be vulnerable given there's a bit of pressure building on the football club.

"We obviously picked a team, a system of 3-5-2, to serve the purpose of the players that we had available.

"Paul Huntington wasn't 100 per cent fit and was on the bench, so we went with the 3-5-2 and every man worked extremely hard, played to the shape of the team, passed the ball with unbelievable purpose and any one of those goals was good enough to win any football match.

"From start to finish we were very good and it was a professional performance with a lot of quality, so we are delighted and as you can imagine the dressing room is very buoyant tonight."
