Manager Looking To Secure Bragging Rights For PNE Faithful

29 October 2015

Manager Simon Grayson is looking forward to PNE's first derby of the season, as Bolton Wanderers travel to Deepdale.

The last time the Trotters came up against North End in competitive action was in the 2001 Play-Off Final, and the gaffer is hoping to give the home supporters something to cheer about this time around.

"It's been a long time since we've been involved in some big derby games, in terms of league games so to have Bolton, Burnley and Blackburn Rovers coming up, it really whets the appetite for the supporters and the players as well.

"They are great games to be involved in with the atmosphere, there will be a fierce competitive edge to the game and every home supporter wants to have the bragging rights come the end of the game.

"That starts on Saturday so hopefully the supporters can have that right come full time.

"We know the last time the teams played each other was the Play-Off Final, we've been reminded a little bit about that this week so that's the past, we can't affect that but what we can try and do is put that right.

"We are looking forward to it, they have an ex-teammate of mine there in Neil Lennon, it will be good to catch up with him but obviously I want the bragging rights over them as much as our supporters do!"
