Pickford Pleased With Third Consecutive Cleansheet

24 October 2015

Goalkeeper Jordan Pickford was delighted to get his third clean sheet in a week, as PNE held league leaders Brighton to a 0-0 draw.

The on-loan Sunderland stopper was on hand to help PNE earn a point in tough game at the AMEX, and the 21-year-old is happy with the turn in the teams fortunes.

"As a 'keeper if you keep a clean sheet as a defensive unit it's always good from my point of view, so to keep three cleansheets in a row, I can't really ask for much more.

"We weathered the storm early on and we did our job at the back and could have gone on and won it.

"We knew it was going to be a tough game, they put a lot of pressure on first half which we were expecting, so we dealt with that well.

"Second half we put a bit of pressure on them towards the end and we had chances to win the game. It was a good test for us and a good judge of where we can be in the league.

"We know how good we are and how good we can be, just things haven't gone our way at the start of the season, but now we are getting the results we need and what we expect ourselves to get."
