Jordan Hugill: "The Lads Should Be Proud Of Themselves"

22 September 2015

Striker Jordan Hugill feels the North End boys should be proud of themselves after taking Premier League side Bournemouth all the way to penalties.

PNE came from behind twice to take the tie to penalties, with Hugill scoring the first of North End's goals on the night.

The 23-year-old was happy to get back on the scoresheet, and believes there are plenty of positives to build on from tonight's performance.

"A lot of the lads are gutted, but we did really well and for me, the lads should just be proud of themselves, they took a Premier League side all the way and we unfortunately lost on penalties.

"I was put on to change the game up and start battling with the defenders and obviously it's worked and we've nicked a goal, and I was involved for the penalty as well.

"It's always nice to get on the scoresheet, especially coming off the bench as well against a Premier League side.

"It just wasn't to be for us tonight but we can take away a lot of credit from tonight and be proud of ourselves.

"There a plenty of positives to take into Saturday's game against Wolves, and hopefully this puts a bit more faith into the fans.

"We've come off the back of a few loses but hopefully it will get the fans upbeat after seeing that performance tonight."
