Jermaine Beckford: "It's Two Points Dropped"

16 April 2016

Jermaine Beckford was glad to have marked his first start of 2016 with a goal, but was disappointed it only led to a draw.

The Lilywhites came out the traps the better of the two sides with Beckford slotting home in the eighth minute with a cool finish past Cody Cropper.

It marked a productive first half from a North End perspective, but the Lilywhites allowed the Dons back into the game in the second stanza with Nicky Maynard drawing the visitors level 10 minutes into the second half.

It was a frustrating second 45, summed up when Joe Garner missed from the spot after a good save from deputising goalkeeper Alex Revell, who was forced to go in goal after Cropper had been sent off for bringing down Eoin Doyle with Karl Robinson already making the three changes.

"I think it was two points lost and we were the better side. We were unfortunate to not put more chances away but it's another point on the board and it's progress.

"I was delighted with the goal but I only want to get better and for that to happen I have to score more and get a few more assists.

"I had a great time out there today, I felt good which is one of the biggest things and I'm glad to be back."
