Bailey Wright ‘We Can Take Heart From Today’s Performance’

9 April 2016

Bailey Wright focused on the positives after North End took high fliers Middlesbrough right to the wire.

Barring a purple patch from the home side which began once Albert Adomah found the net for Boro just after the half hour, North End were in control for the majority of the game.

Sensing unrest from the home crowd as nerves began to kick in, North End pushed forward in search of an equaliser, but the ball just didn’t quite drop for Simon Grayson’s side, with the hosts hanging on to the three points with a 1-0 win, and Wright took to PNEPlayerHD to describe the frustration in the away dressing room.

“It’s never nice to concede when we were playing some good stuff and had some opportunities,” said the Australian International.

“We had them on the back foot in the second half but we just couldn’t find the net.

“They’re a good team and the pressure was on them. You could certainly see that in the second half that we were pushing for it and trying to get something from the game but we know we deserved more.

“Coming to a place like this and doing what we did gives us confidence, there’s a few games to go so we’ll just see how it goes.”
