No Time To Relax Says Gaffer

14 April 2016

Despite North End being in a comfortable position in the Championship, manager Simon Grayson is hoping to finish the season strongly.

The Lilywhites sit tenth in the league, clear from any relegation battle and just behind the pack chasing for the Play-Offs. It would be easy to go into cruise control for the remaining five games of the season but the PNE boss is determined to get back to winning ways this weekend.

With back-to-back defeats in the league for the first time in 2016, PNE will look to but that right against relegation threatened MK Dons on Saturday, but the gaffer knows it won't be an easy game.

"It will be a fight for both teams, I want to get back to winning ways, we've lost the last two but that happens football. So we want to get back to winning ways and finish the last five games with some momentum and positive results.

"We are obviously aware that MK Dons will be needing the points for different reasons, and we know what to expect.

"We've got a lot of history with them and I go back a long way with Karl [Robinson] over the years.

"We know we will get a tough game against them but we aren't too bothered about what other teams have to play for, there is a lot still at stake for the teams that we are playing against in the next few weeks. We want to win the game, so let's go and try and do that."

With just five games of the season remaining, the gaffer wants his players to continue what they have been doing all season, ready to build momentum going into the summer ahead of next season.

"We want to make sure that we maintain the position we are in now so it certainly isn't time for relaxing and enjoying the next few weeks. We want to take it in to the summer, and maintain what we've been doing since the first week of the season right through to the last.

"When we look back in a few weeks time and analyse the whole season and draw a breath we will look back and be very proud of what we've done so far."
