Ben Pringle On 'Frustrating' Debut

6 August 2016

Debutant Ben Pringle admitted his first competitive appearance for North End wasn't the introduction he was looking for.

PNE were beaten by a single goal against Reading in what was PNE's first game of the 2016/17 season.

He was one of two debutants in the Preston side today with Liam Grimshaw also making his senior bow in North End colours, but rather than be pleased about making his debut, Pringle was disappointed with the result, and performance this afternoon.

"It's frustrating coming into the season and losing 1-0," said the summer signing.

"It was a case of not doing enough and not being organised in the first half which let us down but having said that, we didn't really do enough to harm them, so from our point of view, it's really frustrating."

There was a notable improvement in the second half in the visitors' performance and Pringle felt that the Lilywhites perhaps should have got something from the game.

"Second-half we improved a lot and seemed to be a lot better but we lost our concentration at times.

"I think few people would have disputed if we had got an equaliser and I think we should have done with the chances we had.

"We've got to pick ourselves up and go again Tuesday and Fulham next week so we need to sort it out before then."
