Garns Hoping To 'Put Things Right'

8 August 2016

After a disappointing start to the campaign on Saturday, Joe Garner is hoping PNE can put things right with victory on Tuesday night.

The Lilywhites host Hartlepool United in the EFL Cup and Garner feels the quick turnaround of games is a good opportunity to get back on track quickly.

"It wasn't the best of starts but we have a game on Tuesday and another big game on Saturday so hopefully we can put things right.

"The lads aren't very happy from the weekend because we dropped some points and hopefully we can put things right in the next few games.

"We've had a few big games in the cups since I've been here like against Manchester United, we really enjoyed that game and the cup is always nice to play in and hopefully we can have a good run this year.

"We are looking for a win tomorrow night but we will be giving them the respect they deserve. We will come out all guns blazing and hopefully get a good result.

Tuesday's game is the first of three consecutive homes games for Simon Grayson's side and North End's No.14 feels home form is going to be an important factor this season.

"I think home form is going to be massive this year, there are some massive games and some big crowds, big away games as well but we are looking forward to it."
