Grimmy Enjoying Life At PNE

11 August 2016

Liam Grimshaw is loving living the dream at Preston North End now he back out on the pitch.

After signing for the Liywhites back in January, the former Manchester United youngster had to be patient due to a knee injury which kept him out until the end of the 2015/16 season.

Now he is back in action, the 21-year-old is enjoying every day as a professional footballer and living the dream of every young football fan.

After starting the first two games of the season, Grimshaw is determined to keep his place in the side.

"I only played 16 games up in Scotland for Motherwell and this is my first real taste of playing football in England so I look forward to everything really.

"I keep working hard in training and try my best and hopefully it will get me in the side and if it does, just try and play well and stay in the side.

Grimshaw is hoping to give the fans something to cheer about this season, and having been a passionate football fan all his life, he appreciates the fans' support as much as anyone.

"I followed football through growing up so I know what it's like as a fan to be going to away matches and travelling all over the country spending money on tickets. It's a lot of people's lives going to the football, you work all week and at the end of the week it's sort of like an escape from everyday life.

"We want to give the fans something to cheer about and something to be proud of really so if we can do that then great."

"It's what people look forward to, especially up here [in Lancashire], it's part of everyday life, people talk about it at work, at school, just talking about it and looking forward to the weekend for the next game. Whether it's at home or away or a cup game, it's a big part of people's lives up here.

Liam will be looking to make it three starts in a row, as PNE face Fulham at Deepdale in the first home league game of the 2016/17 season.

"You want to play in front of big crowds and obviously if you can get a decent atmosphere it always boosts the lads. I'm looking forward to the weekend and if I'm selected I will just give it my best and hopefully we can get a result."
