Snods Eyes Cup Progress

22 August 2016

North End assistant manager Glynn Snodin has his sights set on the third round of the EFL Cup.

The Lilywhites face Oldham Athletic in the second round on Tuesday night, and after a victory on Saturday against Queens Park Rangers, PNE will be looking to build on that with another win against the Latics.

Speaking to PNE PlayerHD ahead of the game, Snodin knows it will be a tough test against the League One side.

"It will be a tough game, they have nothing to lose. They are coming here as the underdogs, they will try and keep us quiet, sit in and probably hit us on the break but hopefully we will have too much in our locker for them on Tuesday night.

"You want to win every game, I know it's an old cliche but you do try and set a team up to go and win no matter who goes out there.

"Sometimes you have injuries or you rest players but at the end of the day you still want to win that football match.

With the remaining Premier League clubs joining the competition in the next round, Simon Grayson's No.2 is looking to maintain the momentum from the weekend and progress.

"There's big prizes at the end of the day if you get a big club, a Premier League club at home or away it's great for the club and also for the fans to see some quality players at the same time.

"Hopefully we can get through with a great performance and a great result and kick on from there.

"You want to play as quick as you can, you're ready for the next game because you're that full of confidence, you want to go out again and reproduce what you did on Saturday."
