Ben Hoping To Build Momentum

22 December 2016

Midfielder Ben Pearson has been in impressive form of late, and is aiming to build on the results so far this month.

North End go into the festive clash with Leeds United on Boxing Day on the back of two wins and draw and the 21-year-old is hoping to build on those games and pick up the three points at Deepdale.

"I think everyone is looking forward to the Boxing Day game and we are in good form as well so we want to take that momentum into it.

"We don't usually have this long a break until the Boxing Day game but with having just had three games in a week it's good to get that nine days break to re-energise and get the legs back into some players and it gives the ones that are injured a chance to get back.

Despite the number of games in recent weeks, there are no complaints from Pearson who is just happy to be playing week in, week out after breaking into the team back in October.

"I can't complain about the amount of games I've played, I came into the team around the start of October and kept my place.

"I've been playing well, and the team has been doing well so long may that continue really.

As for the Boxing Day test against Leeds United, Pearson continued: "It's another team that are above us in the table that are in good form. They didn't start great but they've kicked on now and they are in the Play-Off places so if we can get a win it gives us a chance to close the gap even more.

"It will be a tough game, I think having it at home, especially on Boxing Day is a slight advantage to us but we know their threats and we have some ourselves.

"If we play the way we have been playing then we've got a good chance."
