Fond Memories For Baps

8 December 2016

Alex Baptiste is looking forward to facing his former club in the Lancashire derby at Deepdale on Saturday.

Baptiste spent a year on loan at Blackburn Rovers during the 2014/15 season. and couldn't speak highly enough of the club, but admits that will all be put to one side when he crosses the white line on Saturday evening.

Speaking of his time in East Lancashire, the 30-year-old said: "I had an unbelievable time at Blackburn, I can't thank the club enough. It was a great year and the staff, the management and the fans were fantastic with me and when I broke my leg they let me train there while I was at Middlesbrough so nothing but great memories there.

"It will be good to see everyone and we will have a chat after the game but it's business as usual when kick-off comes."

"It's a massive game around this area but we have got to approach it the same as every game in this league and it's a massive three points."

North End ended a run of just one defeat in ten games came to an end with defeat at Sheffield Wednesday, but Baptiste is looking to put things right again this weekend.

"We haven't won in the last three at home so it's important that we get a win.

"We should have beaten Wolves, we should have had a penalty against Newcastle and we are playing really well both at home and away.

"Even at Sheffield Wednesday we were in the game so there is nothing to fear in this league. We need to get back to winning ways, we know that, and it all starts on Saturday."
