Gaffer Aiming To Build On Rovers Victory

13 December 2016

Manager Simon Grayson is aiming to build on the three points picked up on Saturday when his side travel to Nottingham Forest.

The Lilywhites take on Forest at the City Ground on Wednesday evening and after a positive start to the week with victory over Blackburn Rovers on Saturday, the gaffer is looking for more of the same this time out.

Meanwhile, Forest were beaten 3-0 away from home to local rivals Derby County on Sunday, but the PNE boss knows not to underestimate Philippe Montanier's side.

"You can look at it two ways really, we could be bouyant in our victory and they could be despondent but on the other side of it they will be looking for a reaction to a disappointing result for their supporters and will be trying to put right what went wrong on Sunday.

"Previous to that they have had a couple of decent results, beaten Barnsley and Newcastle, but going to Forest at any time is always difficult.

"They have got a big squad, an experienced squad, some good key players and going to the City Ground is obviously very difficult at  times.

"But we will try and build off our result on Saturday and ultimately build on what we've been doing over the last few months.

"We are looking forward to it, it's always nice to start the week with a positive victory, when you have got three games in a week and obviously we did that on Saturday and now we can look forward to the next one."

The gaffer also praised club sponsor 888sport who have put on eight free coaches for the travelling PNE fans for this fixture.

"It's similar to when we went to Birmingham, I think we were good away from home, it was another one where the sponsors gave the free travel to the supporters which first and foremost is a fantastic gesture."
