Duo enjoy matchday surprise thanks to North End's Christmas campaign.
The pair were nominated by father, Robert Watson to receive a special surprise as part of North End’s Whites Christmas campaign where fans were given the opportunity to nominate someone special this Christmas.
Robert had mentioned in his letter that the duo had always wanted to walk out alongside their heroes, so the club gave them both that opportunity for none of other than the Lancashire Derby earlier this month.
The whole day was an unforgettable occasion for all of the family during what has been an incredibly difficult period for the three.
“I nominated Emma and Will as sadly my wife passed away two months ago with terminal cancer after a 16 month battle,” said Robert.
“So I wanted to do something special for Christmas as it’s going to be a really hard Christmas for us all without her. I wanted to do something different and Preston North End have come through really well and been great with it all.”
Both Emma and Will were able to meet the players in the dressing room and lead them out onto the pitch before watching North End record a memorable 3-2 victory over neighbours Blackburn, under the lights and live on Sky.
“I’m completely over-whelmed with what’s been provided and the kids have been blown away by it as well,” continued Robert. “What a game to do it as well, Blackburn Rovers, live on Sky!
“They’ve always wanted to be mascots, Will especially as he’s born and bred here in Preston. The last couple of months he’s been on about becoming a ball boy or a mascot so all Christmases have come at once for him.”
