PNE defender Calum Woods spoke of a dressing room full of confidence after North End made it three wins from three.
Joe Garner’s header in the 73rd minute ensured the three points for the Lilywhites in a game which turned out to be a real spectacle for the neutral.
Speaking after the lively encounter, Woods told PNE Player that he and his colleagues are oozing confidence going into another important game against Charlton on Tuesday.
“You can see from today some of the pass and moves going forward, shows we’re full of confidence.
“We knew what we were up against - Sheffield Wednesday have been really good this season and have been on form, but we just did our job right at the back – we defended when we had to and got forward when we had to.
“It’s great where we are at the moment in the league but we’re keeping our feet on the ground.
“The boys are buzzing – it’s been three big wins so it’s time to settle down and look forward to Tuesday.”
