Anders On Pursuit Of Happiness

28 January 2016

Latest signing Anders Lindegaard is on a quest to find first team football, and feels that PNE is just the Club for him.

Having gained a wealth of experience through his career so far, the goalkeeper is now looking to find happiness in football again with North End, after what he described as a difficult few years.

"That's what did it for me, to come out and to get some football. I obviously knew a little bit about Preston, it's one of the old Clubs, it's got tradition going back over 100 years.

"I'm just looking forward to playing some football again and find some joy and happiness in football.

"I've been both blessed and cursed by playing with some of the greatest goalkeepers in the world in the last five years of my career.

"It's a blessing because you learn a lot, I've learnt a lot from some of the greatest, and some of the people I grew up watching on TV as a kid.

"And it becomes a curse because they are in front of me in line, so it's been a difficult couple of years."

Speaking exclusively to PNE PlayerHD, Anders continued: "I need to find happiness in football again, and it's finally here, the enjoyment and the excitement that you get when you play."

"You want to be part of the team and you want to feel valued and I haven't had that feeling for some time and I am trying to find that here.

"I think happiness is key for everyone, that's what we all strive for, happiness is something difficult to find and you don't know how to obtain it until you have it on some level.

"It's extremely important, not just in football but for everybody."

Despite only being at Deepdale on loan until the end of the season, Lindegaard is passionate about making his time at the Club a successful one, and is looking forward to the journey.

"My feeling is that this is a Club with a buzz about it, that it's trying to build up some magic. You can see what magic can do for a football team when you look at a team like Leicester.

"In my past I've been a part of projects like that, riding on a wave of something indescribable, that isn't just ability.

"Riding on that wave is one of the best feelings you can have as a footballer and I would love to try and help this Club fulfill a bit of that.
