Gaffer Wants Return To Winning Ways

11 January 2016

Manager Simon Grayson is hoping his side can get back to winning ways quickly after defeat at the weekend.

A win on Tuesday night would make it three consecutive wins in the league for North End, but the manager knows it won't be an easy game against a side he knows well.

"There team hasn't changed a great deal since last season, they play the same way, same strengths and weaknesses, they've tweaked a few things here and there but it's a game where we know a lot about each other.

"Both games last year were very tight, and it will be the same this year. They're desperate to pick up a couple of victories to get them up the table and we are looking forward to the game, trying to get victories to keep us where we are and keep us progressing up the table.

"I expect it to be a tight game, but hopefully we can come out on top again."

Bristol City is the second of three away games in a week for North End, and the gaffer appreciates the efforts of the supporters who will be travelling to the games, and hopes the team can reward that by picking up points on the road.

"It's difficult for the supporters, it's time off work, the money it will cost them to go to the likes of Peterborough, Bristol and Ipswich. It's a diccult week for them, and we are fortunate that we are going down for the week.

"Hopefully by the end of the week the supporters will have something to cheer about with some points on the board, given the distances they will be travelling."
