Manager Simon Grayson admitted that results like that against Ipswich Town will only benefit the belief within the squad.
North End made it four games unbeaten picking up ten points from the last four games, and the PNE boss feels performances likes the one against Ipswich will further increase the confidence his team have in themselves.
Speaking of the performance, the gaffer said: "I think we played well in the opening period, we got the ball down, we did the right things, we passed it short, we had runners, then we went long some times and caused them a few problems.
"The crowd were getting a little bit restless, Mick [McCarthy] then changed to a 4-4-2 which complimented how well we had done and you know they are always going to keep asking questions of you throughout the game.
"Every man out there did the job that they had to do without the ball, with the ball we did well, we passed it well and created some good chances and should we have had a couple of decisions go our way then it could have been a different result.
"A draw was the very least we deserved because I thought our back four were outstanding today, as well as the midfield who did the jobs that they needed to do.
Speaking of the confidence that can be taken from the result, he continued: "We have a real honest group and we've performed against one of the top six Clubs in the division, we've got to keep taking extra belief from every game that we are involved in against the bigger teams.
"We've got plenty of games still to go, we know what we still need to do, and results like today can only increase the confidence and belief that the players should have, but they obviously want to take that to another level as well."
