Happy Camp For Joe And Co.

19 January 2016

Joe Garner is happy with the way North End have started 2016, and after a successful league run in recent games, the striker admits there's an added buzz at the training ground.

The team spirit within the North End squad has been a pivotal part of the team's success since manager Simon Grayson took charge, and Garner admits it's the best he's seen during his time in the game so far and confidence is high.

"We are sat nicely in the league, we picked up four points away from home against two tough sides and the lads have come in to training really happy.

"The team spirit we've got here is probably the best I've seen since I've been playing football, so when we go away like when we stay down between games, we go to the cinema and go out for food together and we all get on really well and we take that out on to the pitch on a Saturday and we work really hard for each other

"We've had a tough month or so with a lot of games but we've picked up good points and I think we've played some good football.

"I think the first half against Ipswich is right up there with the best we've played this season and Bristol City are in the middle of a dog fight and we matched them and came away with the points."

The confidence is as high as ever ahead of this weekend's return to Deepdale to face Brentford, and the 27-year-old is hoping PNE can continue their recent run of results back on home turf.

"The gaffer knows what he's doing, he's doing a great job here, he sets up really well with how he wants to go through the opposition and a lot of the credit has got to go to him.

"We know what we've got to do this weekend, we are in a good position and playing well and we're looking forward to trying to pick the points up."
