Hunts Hopeful Of Cup Run

7 January 2016

Paul Huntington is hoping North End can repeat their cup form of last season with a successful cup run this time around.

PNE's FA Cup campaign kicks off against Peterborough United on Saturday at the ABAX Stadium, and Huntington, who scored in the fourth round replay against Sheffield United last season, is looking forward to the challenge of the cup once again.

"After having a great run last year, getting to the fifth round and playing Manchester United, that inspired our league run.

"It's an enjoyable competition and we're obviously looking forward to the game this weekend. It inspired us to kick on again in the league last season and then we went unbeaten until the last game, so it's a competition we want to have another good run in.

Saturday's game is the first of three away games in a week for North End, and though the manager was grateful of a mid-week break this week, the players are raring to go ahead of a busy week.

"A break in mid-week is always better preparation wise if there are a few players with niggles etc. and we have a busy week next week with three games, starting on Saturday.

"But we are looking forward to that, that's what you want, you want to play games rather than train as a player and hopefully we can pick up some more victories."
