DJ Determined To Work Hard

18 July 2016

PNE midfielder Daniel Johnson is ready to build on a positive first season in the Championship with North End.

Johnson ended the 2015/16 season as the Club's top goal scorer, and the 23-year-old is looking to push himself even further this time around.

Speaking exclusively to PNE PlayerHD, Johnson said: "There was a lot that I picked up on last season that I'm definitely going to improve on and work on going in to this new season.

"I want to add more goals to my game, add more assists to my game and there's a lot of other stuff that I need to work on as well."

Next up in the pre-season preparations is a pre-season friendly away to DJ's former side Oldham Athletic, and Johnson is looking forward to the game as the countdown to the season begins.

"We've got four games left before the season kicks off, as well as getting the minutes in and getting our fitness up, it's about getting the right communication between us on the field which is key.

"Coming towards that Reading game on the first day of the season, we want to go in to that game full of confidence and full of belief that we can go down there and do what we did last year.

"We are all looking forward to the games and hopefully we can go for a clean sweep, four wins from four games then go into the Reading game when everything starts again."
