Double Delight For Callum Robinson

27 July 2016

Callum Robinson spoke of his delight at bagging a brace and getting his first 90 minutes of pre-season under his belt.

Robinson, who played just behind the striker tonight was involved in almost everything creative, as well as scoring two goals and assisting Jordan Hugill for his strike.

The winger emphasised however, the importance of playing the full game rather than getting on the score sheet.

"First of all, it was all about getting the 90 minutes of pre-season," stated the youngster to PNEPlayerHD after the game.

"That's what it's all about in pre-season and working hard for the team.

"Of course, it's a bonus to get the two goals and to be involved with Jordan's goal as well and get the result.

"We've been trying to switch it up as the weeks have gone on. The lads who started at Stoke were rested tonight and vice versa so we've been trying different formations and seeing what's best for the team.

"There's a lot of quality and most of us are fit which is good so that we've got a big squad as we'll have lots of games to play throughout the season."

To hear more from tonight's double goalscorer, as well as an exclusive interview from Glynn Snodin, head to PNE PlayerHD tomorrow morning.
