Double goalscorer Joe Garner spoke to PNE PlayerHD after the 3-1 victory over Oldham this evening.
The marksman played the last half hour against the Latics alongside Jermaine Beckford and Jordan Hugill in a forward three, and the striker was happy to get on the score sheet after a week of gruelling fitness work.
"We've had a really tough week training so it's nice to be able to get back out there and score two goals," said the North End forward.
"There's a lot of quality here now so hopefully we can have an enjoyable season.
"We're all fighting for places; The gaffer's brought in some really strong players.
"We've got a tough game on Saturday against Stoke but it's good to play against these top players so we'll go out there and give it our best."
