Grimshaw Ready To Prove Himself

9 July 2016

Liam Grimshaw was relieved to finally show fans of what he's capable of after missing his first six months at PNE.

The January signing is yet to make his PNE competitive debut after having surgery on his knee after signing for the club.

Since then, Grimshaw has had to watch his team-mates from the sidelines until last night where he played in PNE colours for the first time and today where he played on the right-side of a defensive three for the first 45 minutes in the 2-1 win against Chorley this afternoon.

And after giving PNE fans a glimpse of what's to come from the tough-tackling 21-year-old, Grimshaw is ready to continue to put the ground-work in so that he is ready for the new season.

"It's all about fitness as this stage of the season," he said. "I've not played for six months so it was good to be back out on the pitch.

"I'm feeling good; I'm quite physically fit anyway but I've still had to put in quite a lot of work in over the summer.

"It's been frustrating coming to a club and not getting the chance to get out there and not being able to prove myself to the fans and the players but now I'm ready to take the opportunity to impress.
