Match Preview: Bamber Bridge And Chorley

8 July 2016

Preston North End kick-off their pre-season schedule at the Sir Tom Finney Stadium, where they will face Bamber Bridge.

In the annual pre-season game, both sides will go head to head on Friday 8th July, 7pm kick-off, as Simon Grayson's summer schedule gets underway.

The PNE boss looks set to have a fully fit squad to choose from, aside from long-term absentee Stevie May.

North End are also in action the following day as they make the trip to Victory Park on Saturday 9th July, 3pm kick-off.

All of our summer signings could make their debuts on Friday night, and January signing Liam Grimshaw could also make his first appearance. Chris Humphrey could also make his return to first team action after being included in the matchday squad for the final game of the 2015/16 season after injury.

There will be two different Xls in each half for both games, so fans will see plenty of new faces in action over the two friendlies.

Speaking ahead of the match, Simon Grayson said: "They are two good games, the players have had just over a week or so of training, predominantly double sessions, so we will go to Bamber Bridge on Friday, then Chorley on Saturday with a strong squad.

"There will be a different team for 45 minutes of each game to ease the players into the work that they are going to be doing.

"It's going to be nice for the players to get out on the pitch and get some proper game time, and it will be nice for the supporters to be able to see the new players."
