Morecambe v PNE, Tuesday 26th July, 7.30pm

25 July 2016

North End continue their pre-season preparations on Tuesday night in the penultimate pre-season fixture of the summer.

Off the back of a 1-1 draw with Premier League side Stoke City at the weekend, manager Simon Grayson is likely to mix up his starting Xl once again to give additional minutes to other players in the build up to the big kick-off on 6th August.

Defender Tommy Spurr could make his return to action after an ankle injury picked up earlier in the summer, but the game could come a few days too soon for the former Blackburn Rovers man.

Other than Spurr and long-terms absentees Calum Woods and Stevie May, the manager should have a full strength squad to choose from for the match at the Globe Arena.

Morecambe will be looking to get back on track after a 6-2 defeat to Halifax Town at the weekend.

Prior to that game, the Shrimps had gone unbeaten in pre-season, which included a 1-1 draw with Premier League new boys Burnley last Tuesday.

For North End, with just one friendly remaining after Tuesday night, a number of players are likely to get 90 minutes once again as the season draws closer.

We will have team news here on PNE.Com and across our social media channels at 6.30pm on Tuesday.
