Summer signing Simon Makienok is ready for the challenge of the Championship with PNE this year.
The on-loan Palmermo striker feels his experiences with Charlton Athletic last season have taught him a lot going into the new season, and is looking to make an impact with the Lilywhites.
"It's always different when you come from other leagues to this league and you really have to adapt to the style of the league and how the teams are playing.
"I really think that it was a good thing for me to be in the Championship for a year before and now I've sort of played all the teams and hopefully I can benefit from that and have a good season here.
"I learnt a lot of things, especially the physical side of it. I have always been a tall player but I really learned how to use my body. I also learnt how important it is to win your duels and how to benefit from that.
"It's a tough league but you also have to learn to be in the right places and all of the small things.
The frontman says he is excited to come to Deepdale after hearing only positive things about the Club.
"Preston is one of the clubs that I really remembered from last year, from playing in the Championship. I like the way they played and I liked the atmosphere around the Club and I've heard really good things about it.
"I spoke to Anders who was here and only heard good things about it so I'm very excited and pleased that I could come here.
With regards to what the fans can expect from the 6ft 7ins Danish forward, he continued: "Obviously I'm a tall player, a physical player, I'm a striker who likes to hold up the ball and get the attack started from there.
"I like to be in the box and score goals and I like to have duels and fight for the ball and of course help the team to score goals."
