Gaffer Expecting 'Fantastic Atmosphere' On Gentry Day

10 March 2016

Manager Simon Grayson is expecting a real derby atmosphere on Saturday as PNE celebrate Gentry Day at Bolton Wanderers.

there will be almost 4,500 PNE fans in the ground, as the Lilywhites look to be back to winning ways.meaningNorth End sold out the away end within four days of them going on sale,

Talking of Gentry Day ahead of the game, the PNE boss said: "I think it's a fantastic idea, it was something new when I came to the Club three years ago that I didn't know too much about.

"Everybody connected with it embraces it, you've seen over the years the players wearing the bowler hats after games, as goal celebrations, the supporters as well and obviously this one is a real good local derby where everyone can get to.

"We have four and a half thousand fans going on Saturday who will create an even better atmosphere and it will be a fantastic sight behind that goal.

"They've chosen a more local game this year, and I think that will create an even better atmosphere than it would have done anywhere.

"It's a local derby, there's still lots of points to play for and the bigger picture is that we want to get back to winning ways and there would be no better way to do it than to try and beat your local rivals.

The manager will have to make at least one change to his matchday 18 this weekend with striker Joe Garner suspended after picking up his tenth booking of the season on Tuesday night.

Speaking of the latest team news ahead of the match, the gaffer continued: "We will be looking at Browne and Kilkenny to see if they are going to be fit for the weekend, Joe is going to be out, so as it stands at the moment we are down to 17 players. It's not ideal but it's just the way it is when you've got a small squad.

"We can't really bring loan players in because the five we have got are all available so we couldn't add any addition into the 18 anyway.

"Whatever team we put out, whatever system we play, whichever personnel is in the side, whether we have a full 18 or 17, we will go there trying to get back to winning ways.

"We want to be hard to beat, pass the ball around and ultimately try and get another three points."
