Chris Maxwell Named As PNE's NCS Ambassador

7 November 2016

PNE Community and Education Trust is delighted to announce that Chris Maxwell will be Preston North End's National Citizen Service (NCS) ambassador for the 2016/17 campaign.

The PNE shot stopper will serve as an ambassador to a programme that provides unique experiences and endless opportunities to hundreds of teenagers in Preston every year.

Maxwell will work alongside the Community and Education Trust by engaging with young people on our NCS programme - in particularly with their 'Social Action Project' which sees participants plan and deliver their very own community initiative.

Speaking of the announcement, NCS Programme Leader at Preston North End Liam Smith said: "Since arriving at the club in the summer, Chris has shown incredible enthusiasm in wanting to get involved in the numerous programmes we deliver for the community; from his school visits and charity work to now becoming a vital part of our NCS programme.

"As a football club, we are proud to deliver a programme which has been positively acknowledged by the government recently with former Prime Minister David Cameron showing his support as an ambassador of the scheme."

The NCS programme at Preston North End is delivered all year round; participants spend time away from home enjoying instructor led activities designed to build character before being tasked with a community action project enabling them to make their mark in their local area.

Aged 15-17? Looking to enhance your CV and skills? we're currently recruiting for this summer's NCS intake. To find out more, or to express your interest contact PNE Community and Education Trust on 01772 693309 or email ncs@pne.com.
