Manager Simon Grayson won't be underestimating Championship new boys Burton Albion this weekend.
The Brewers visit Deepdale for the first time, with Nigel Clough's side experiencing the Championship for the first time in their history this season.
Despite the fact that North End may be seen as favourites from those outside of the club, the PNE boss knows that it's only what happens on the pitch that counts for anything.
Speaking of the game, the gaffer said: "As a group we are not bothered about who is being classed as favourites or underdogs etc. Over the last few weeks we have been more the underdog than the favourites and come out with positive results.
"The Championship is relentless, you have to keep doing the right things regardless of who you are playing. Football isn't won on paper, you have to make sure you do the basics right, you win your individual battles and ultimately try and come out on top.
"Burton as a football club have come a long way in a short space of time and full credit to them that they are in the Championship so it's another tough test for us but hopefully come 5pm we will have three more points added to the campaign so far.
"After this game you go into a group of games that leads into the Christmas period so I think if we can get the victory on Saturday that everybody wants then it can set you up for the next run of games."
Grayson's squad will be boosted by the return of midfielder Alan Browne who comes back into contention after serving his suspension.
On the latest team news, the manager continued: "Alan Browne will be back from suspension, Ben Pringle has done a bit of light training in the early part of the week after his asthma attack, so we will assess whether he is going to be included.
"We will see how one or two come through the reserve game that we had against Bolton, it was nice to see Stevie May back but ultimately everybody is competing for places.
"There are going to be one or two doubts as well over certain players but we have the competition within the squad and whoever comes in will do the job for us."
