Skipper Pleased With Progress

8 November 2016

PNE captain Tom Clarke is pleased with the progress the squad has made over recent months.

After a tough start to the 2016/17 Championship campaign, North End have been in terrific form of late and Clarke never doubted the sides ability to compete in the division and is delighted with the way things are going.

"We have always been creating chances it's about putting them away and we are doing that now.

"With the likes of Aiden McGeady creating and Jordan Hugill putting them in it's good to see that we are getting the rewards as players for what we are doing in the game."

October looked like a challenging month for the Lilywhites, but Simon Grayson's side came out with ten points from a possible 15 against the top sides in the division, and went into the international break with another three points against Rotherham United.

Speaking of the recent results, the 28-year-old continued: "It looked like it was going to be a tough month with the games that we had so to come out of it with the results that we have done we are over the moon.

"Then to get the result going into the international break was good because you want to win that with it being a long gap until the next game.

"It's been an intense period, the games are coming thick and fast, we are doing really well. Some people might say you just want to carry that on but we will work hard in training, work on Wolves who we play next and prepare ourselves for what is going to be another tough game.
