PNE striker Jordan Hugill is looking forward to coming up against Newcastle United on Saturday.
The 23-year-old was an unused substitute at St James' Park on Tuesday night, and is relishing the thought of playing against the Magpies.
Growing up as a Middlesbrough fan, Hugill admits there is an added incentive for him should be face Rafa Benitez's side this weekend.
"I'm really looking forward to it. Being a Middlesbrough fan myself I would love the opportunity to play against Newcastle. A few people that I know are Geordies so it would be nice to get one over on them.
"There will be a good following there from us and them as well so it should be a good atmosphere and something good to play in.
"It's always good when two games come around quickly because regardless of the result, you can put things right when the next game comes around quickly.
"It will be a great opportunity to play in front of a packed out stadium with a great atmosphere.
The striker has been in good form of late and is PNE's leading goalscorer this season. With the likes of Jermaine Beckford coming back into contention, the competition for places will be even higher in the coming weeks and Hugill is hoping he has done enough to keep his spot in the side.
"At the end of the day it's up to the gaffer who he plays and hopefully I have done enough so far in my stint in the team to keep the shirt.
"I've always been confident this year, I came into the team and I've done well and scored goals and I want to carry on progressing, improving and keep scoring goals and going from there.
"I said to the gaffer that when I get my chance I'm going to keep it, I feel I have done well with the chance that I was given and the shirt is hopefully mine to lose now.
"I've just got to keep hold of it and do what I can to stay in that team."
