PNE boss Simon Grayson was delighted with his players' application as his side inflicted Norwich City's first home defeat of the season.
The Lilywhites certainly had chances of their own, and with 16 minutes from time, upstepped Alex Baptiste, who made it two goals in two games with a bullet header from Daniel Johnson's free-kick to give North End the win and stretch their unbeaten run to seven in all competitions.
"If you come to places like Norwich you have to make sure you give everything," said Grayson after PNE made it back to back victories against high flying opposition.
"You have to make sure you keep your shape and discipline of the team; your goalkeeper makes saves; your defenders make blocks; ultimately we did all of them things and played really well.
"We had some good chances especially in the first-half and their goalkeeper made some very good saves. You're expecting pressure from them because of the players that they've got and what they expect the result to be, but ultimately it's a fantastic achievement to get a result like this.
"We were a bit disappointed at half-time that we didn't manage the game as well as we could have done. We gave the ball away too quickly and didn't take care of the ball enough but we still had opportunities to carry a threat.
"Every one of those players today did what they needed to do and we're delighted to win at a difficult place.
"We worked hard in the middle and in the wide areas to stop them playing; our centre backs played really well against strong centre forwards."
The three points would have made what was a horrific journey for those who travelled from Preston worth it after numerous delays getting to Carrow Road, and the gaffer took to PNEPlayerHD to thank them for their wonderful support this afternoon.
The gaffer continued: "We've done ever so well today; you can't underestimate what we've done - this is for the supporters because they've had a tough few weeks with the journeys but they've come in their numbers today and that's warranted the three points."
