30 Years Of Community: Join The Team At PNE With A L2 And L3 Diploma In Sport

2 September 2016

The education programme at the Community trust allows students to continue their studies at their local football club.

Next week marks the start of Preston North End's education programme, and you could be part of it!

Marnick Vermijl, Aiden McGeady and Alex Baptiste signed deals this week which meant they'd be wearing Lilywhite this season, and you could very well follow suit with a Level two and Level Three Extended Diploma in Sport and Exercise.

Our diplomas are not only equivalent to three A Levels, they also offers students a unique opportunity to further their study, combining classroom based modules with regional futsal and 11-a-side competitions representing Preston North End.

Post-diploma, the Preston North End Community and Education Trust also offers a Foundation Degree in Community Football Coaching and Development in conjunction with the University of South Wales.

The two-year long degree opens doors to students within the sports industry and allows them access to exclusive work experience within a professional football club, as well as first class facilities and education.

Our unique and bespoke progammes allow students access to exclusive and practical work-based experience that only a professional football club can offer; this is combined with training and representing Preston North End at regional and national level.

Not only that, you'll develop your skills on and off the pitch with the help of experienced, qualified teachers including recently retired professional footballer and former North End player, Graeme Atkinson.

Graeme played over 50 games for North End throughout the 90s, and believes students joining the course are entering an exciting and positive stage of their development.

"The programme, ran in conjunction with the EFL Trust has gone from strength to strength since its introduction several years ago, and we're looking forward to beginning another year of successful delivery this week as we also mark the Trust's 30th Anniversary.

"We're excited at the thought of welcoming a fresh batch of students onto the programme as well as welcoming our returning students for what will be another pivotal year in their development.

"However, there's still time for potential students to continue their education ahead of next week's intake and we encourage those interested to contact us to arrange an informal chat with myself, or another member of the education team."
