Callum Robinson Thankful For The Quick Turnaround

10 September 2016

PNE's Callum Robinson spoke to PNE PlayerHD after North End were cruelly denied a share of the points at Deepdale.

The Lilywhites fell behind just before the half hour through Sam Winnall who gave Barnsley the lead going into half-time.

However, Simon Grayson's side went into the second-half rejuvenated and were rewarded for their persistence when debutant Aiden McGeady struck home from 25 yards on 64 minutes.

Going into the latter stages of the game, not content with just the point, North End continued to apply the pressure, only for Barnsley's Adam Armstrong to go through on goal at the other end from a counter attack and score.

"All of the lads are gutted in there," admitted Robinson to the club's media channel after the game.

"Once again  we've done really well second half and we've done everything that the gaffer wanted - it was a great finish from Aiden only for them to go down the other end and score with probably their own chance of the second-half."

The focus for North End now is Tuesday night under the lights at Deepdale and Robinson believes the quick turnaround is exactly what PNE need going into another league game in three days time.

"The good thing is, is that the next game comes around quick and we can go again," he continued.

"We'll re-group tomorrow and Monday, get things right; we'll probably go through today's game and crack on for Tuesday night - hopefully we'll bring that same performance and hopefully we can get them goals, a win for the fans and everybody involved with Preston North End."
