Greg Cunningham Agrees New Contract

8 September 2016

Current player of the year Greg Cunningham has agreed a new three-year deal with the club.

The Irish international, 25, had a year left to run on his current contract, but has now signed terms until at least the summer of 2019.

The left-sided defender joined the Lilywhites last summer from Bristol City and went on to make nearly 50 appearances in his first season, sweeping the board when the end of season trophies were handed out.

And the former Manchester City player was delighted to complete the paperwork, joining fellow defenders Tom Clarke and Paul Huntington, plus midfielder Daniel Johnson in signing extensions to their contracts in the last two weeks.

The PNE No.3 said: “"I'm delighted to have signed another three years, I still had the rest of this season left on my contract so there was no real rush but it's great to get it signed."

Manager Simon Grayson was pleased to continue to get the nucleus of his squad tied down, adding: “We've said over the last few weeks we have been looking to secure players on long term contracts and I'm delighted.

"These players give 100 per cent committment to the football club in every training session, every matchday and I'm delighted to sign them.
