Hugill Hoping For Return

13 April 2017

Jordan Hugill was left out of the squad against Leeds United last weekend after being ruled out due to a concussion sustain against Bristol City.

The striker has been back in training this week after getting the all clear from the doctor and he is now aiming to return to the first team against Huddersfield tomorrow.

“I’m doing well, I had concussion last week from the Bristol City game.I got cleared by the doctor to train again and I got through the session and felt good.

“I’ll keep on working until the end of the week and hopefully the gaffer chooses me.”

Huddersfield have impressed this season, winning 23 games and losing just 12 and Hugill is excited to test himself against one of the Championship’s best teams and feels that North End can get a result in Yorkshire.

“It’s a tough game but a good one. I’m due a few goals so I would love to score.

“Huddersfield are going to finish high up in the table and could even surprise a few and go up automatically.

“We have something to play for and so do they so for the neutral it should be a good spectacle. The team is looking forward to it and hopefully we will be on the right end of the result.

“They are going to come into the game knowing a lot more about us than they did earlier in the season when we turned them over at our place.

“Maybe they underestimated us then but they will not this time, the three points mean so much to both clubs.”

Huddersfield have some outstanding players and manager David Wagner has instilled a high pressing style of play. Hugill assessed the Huddersfield Town squad, saying: “They mix it up well, so they are good pressing team and a good passing team, we have just got to go there and give our all.

“They have quality in depth such as Aaron Mooy, the central midfielder, who got in the Championship Team of the Year. He’s been doing really well.

“Obviously, Nakhi Wells is always going to be a threat for them and he has scored against us in a few matches recently.

“He’s a great striker in this league, he signed a few years ago and is a nightmare if anything goes in behind. If we keep them quiet we should come away with three points.”
