Defender Ben Davies believes that a 15 minute period at the start of the second half cost PNE the game at Pride Park.
A penalty scored by Matej Vydra was all that separated the two sides in a game that was closely contested for the full 90 minutes.
Speaking to iFollowPNE Ben said: ”We had some good opportunities in the first half on the break and limited them to probably one chance.
“Ultimately a 15 minute period just after the second half has cost us the game.
“I think we probably shaded it in terms of possession. We moved it quite well at times, we could have moved it quicker to hurt them and actually create more chances but I felt we were comfortable.”
Davies made his first league start this season for PNE in the defeat and it’s been a waiting game for the young defender in the meantime. The 22-year-old now looking to get back in front of the Deepdale crowd to get back to winning ways.
“I’ve waited quite a while to get a league start for Preston. I’m grateful for that, I’m just really disappointed that I couldn’t come in and keep a clean sheet.
“At the start of the season we’ve had good home form so we’re definitely looking to get back on home turf. We’re more than capable at beating anyone at home.”
